5/21/2017 0 Comments A Bird's eye view of the cityThe Capital city of Trinidad is Port of Spain. It is located on the North- west coast of the island on the Gulf of Paria.
The Northern Range also bounds it as you can enjoy the mountainous views in the distance on a clear day. It is the Commercial, Administrative and Financial hub of the island and has some of the tallest buildings in the Caribbean. It also has the largest container port in Trinidad to facilitate the export and import of goods. 5/13/2017 0 Comments FloralsIt was time to pick out an elegant outfit for a Family function. As I searched through my closet, this beauty stood out to me. I have a love for all things floral, and this piece is definetly a favorite. A fully lined, long sleeve chiffon floral print maxi dress from Neva StyleTT...a hijabi's dream come true. Us hijabis know the struggle it is when it comes to finding modest, long sleeved, lined dresses. Super breezy & comfortable while still elegant, these dresses are such a delight to wear. I accessorized the dress with a nude belt with gold detailing, a nude Hijab and an Islamic Jewels' Floral Head Chain. Perfect for upcomming Iftar dinners, Eid or other special ocassions, these maxi dresses are a must have.
It was Family adventure time again and Today's Road trip took us to the North Coast of Trinidad. When one thinks of the North Coast, Beaches like Maracas, Las Cuevas and Blanchisseuse are the most common ones to come to mind. We took the winding road overlooking the sea, passed Maracas & Las Cuevas and found this gem of a spot in La Fillette. La Fillette is a small fishing village along the North Coast. It has spectacular views of the mountains along the Coast with clear waters. It definitely is worth the drive for their picturesque postcard views as you lay back and enjoy the pristine beauty of our Island. We ventured down to the actual beach which was a pretty steep walk down from the road. It is a very small cosy beach mainly populated by the Locals and fishermen of the area.
The beach does not have a huge shore, but when the tide is low, there is enough space for families to enjoy playing on the sand and lounging. Huge Steep Cliffs bound the back of the beach and add to that majestic feel and beauty of this serene spot. |
