10/8/2017 0 Comments A night at the theatreTonight we were off to The National Academy for Performing Arts (NAPA) to enjoy the play Aladdin and the Bollywood Princess by the renowned Crazy Catholic, DC Shell Theatre and Cindon Productions. Since my childhood days growing up, my parents would carry my siblings and I to enjoy these local plays. From Fairy Tales such as Cinderella & Little Mermaid to Huge Bollywood numbers like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kal Ho Naa Ho, the past 33 years they have been providing clean Family entertainment. Their scripts are cleverly written keeping the true essence of the respective story line while mixing it with our Trini comedy. Their plays are sure to have you laughing off your seats!! We sure did :) Recording or photography was not permitted during the show, but you can check it out for yourself at the last show this Afternoon at 5pm. 10/1/2017 0 Comments hootd- breakfast limeIt was my fav pair of twins birthday weekend and I was off to a Breakfast lime with the Girls.
I decided to wear a Maxi Skirt and picked out some of the colors from it to accessorize with. I love wearing Maxi Skirts, they are super comfortable and such great statement pieces. Very easy to style, I wore it with a plain black long sleeved top. Chose a Cream Hijab and finished out the look with a burgundy belt. 9/24/2017 1 Comment fun at harry's water parkIt's Family adventure time again and Today we were heading to Rio Claro to enjoy a fun filled day at Harry's Water Park. Harry's water park is an outdoor park that has swimming pools with slides both for kids and adults, kayaking, paddle boats, a Nature Trail with a small zoo, a lazy river, kids play park, ziplining and much more. The skies were a bit overcast this day but that did not stop us. We packed finger foods for the kids and change of clothes bags and we were off on our road trip. The drive for us was a good hour and a half so this gave the kids ample time to take a nap in the car so they had all the energy to enjoy the park when we arrived. One of the Kids Water Slide sections This kids area was a hit with our kids and their friends. It had numerous slides of different sizes so kids of all ages can enjoy. They had water sprinklers everywhere and also a tipping water bucket ever so often. The water was shallow enough so the kids could have walked around, you can always walk with a pair of floaties for extra precaution for smaller kids. We could have spent all day at this slide and the kids would have been satisfied but we had soo much more to explore. There were also numerous bigger adult slides, like pictured above, with varying intensity so even the most thrill seeker could have enjoyed. There are also numerous huts available for rent where you can enjoy a 'Trini cook up' with your family and friends. This had to be one of my favorite parts of the parks, The Lazy River. Jump onto a floaty and lean back and relax as you gently float around the river's course. Zip Line The Water Park also has a Zip Line available. You can zip line across the park through the lush trees and over the lake. I mustered up the courage to try it and boy was it an adrenaline rush!! I really enjoyed the ride and the views of the park from up above. After a fun filled day with our kids and friends enjoying all the activities the park had to offer it was time to enjoy Lazy Kingdom. Here they had numerous hammocks hung where you can unwind and relax. Harry's Water Park was a wonderful experience, both the kids and us adults thoroughly enjoyed it.
It is true when they say Harry's Water Park is 'the place that brings family closer togther!' I usually have a list of planned outfits in my head and whenever an occasion arises I can choose one that is suited. Tonight's outfit I had planned in my mind from the moment I got this dress, was just awaiting an event to wear it to. It's the start of TTRW here and we were off to a dinner reservation with friends.
The dress I chose was this black slit dress with embroidery detailing on the bodice. It is a very classic and elegant piece that is very easy to style. To make the dress modest for me to wear, I layered it with a long sleeved inner top and pair of leggings. 9/10/2017 1 Comment adventure time- safari eco parkIt's Family adventure time again and today's exploration took us to the West. Nestled in the lush Tuker valley in Chaguaramas Trinidad, is the Safari Eco Park. It is a treat for both the Adults and kids as you come face to face with animals such as Kangaroos, Zebras, llamas, camels, cougars and more. At the enterance of the park, you can also purchase feeding cups which gives you the added hands on experience of feeding some of these animals. Surrounded by lush green mountains, the setting is very serene. 9/2/2017 0 Comments Eid ul adha- HOOTDEid Mubarak!! Hoping you all are having a wonderful Eid ul Adha weekend with your friends & family <3 Today I will be sharing my outfit I wore for Eid morning. This gorgeous Maxi dress from LOUELLA by Ibtihaj Muhammad. Her line of dresses are super comfortable and effortless to style. From a mixture of fun prints to essential solid colors, there is a style to suit everyone. I chose the beautiful Paisley Diana dress in Navy. I stuck to the main color of the dress, Navy, in accessorizing and added some pops of Gold for some extra bling.
8/26/2017 0 Comments sailing 'down the islands'Last weekend we were blessed with the opportunity to experience sailing 'Down the islands'. It was my husband's friend birthday and his wife (my bestie) surprised him with a sailing trip and invited us along. She booked the trip with GO WEST TT and I have to say this was one of the most memorable experiences ever! I give them 5 stars for their service! They were very friendly and made us feel like family <3 For someone like me who lives on an island surrounded by water and does not know how to swim (shame face!), going out on a boat into the ocean may seem terrifying. But, I actually was very calm and The GO WESTT TT team were very comforting and sure to let us know all the safety measures that they had in place. We got such perfect weather for a day out on the water, the sun was out in all its glory. The ride was very smooth and relaxing, it was an instant de-stresser as you take in the picturesque views all around. We anchored at Scotland Bay which is on the North west peninsula of Trinidad. We were able to jump into the water and enjoy a swim in the ocean (not me though, I stayed very close to the shore where I could have stood up in the water lol). After a wonderful time in the water we enjoyed a smooth sail back to land.
I would highly recommend GO WEST TT to anyone interested in exploring Down the islands. They offer day sailing trips as well as intimate dinners on a boat for those special occasions. With my obsession with Maxi dresses, it should not surprise you that I chose this beauty. This light weight, flowy, floral dress was my choice for the evening. With its soft color palette I stuck to the pastel hues (Blush & Nude) in accessorizing. I loved the combination of the pastel tones in this outfit. The statement piece of this look is a cute dainty denim dress with white embroidery detailing. I paired it with white jeans, white inner top, white bow belt, a white scarf and white sandals. I loved how this outfit turned out. 7/16/2017 0 Comments Embroidery loveToday's HOOTD is all about this beauty of a dress.
A gorgeous Embroidery detailed dress I got as a gift. The colorful floral pattern gives the dress such a unique look. The embroidery also went down to the sleeves which were sheer, so i had to end up wearing a black under shirt inside to make it modest. Paired it with an olive green pair of jeans, nude hijab, belt and black wedged heels. It made for a cute dinner date outfit. |
